Dr. Ally Quintos

Dr. Kelly Perona

Dr. Ally Quintos
Dr. Ally is one of those rare extraverted Seattleites. She loves to help others move better and feel better while holding a compassionate, motivating space. As with other providers at Flourish, Dr. Ally believes that any progress in health, no matter how small, is a step forward and should be celebrated. Some days that will be earning a PR at the gym. Other days that will be simply showing up for your appointment. Your best will change from day to day, and it is enough.
Dr. Ally uses chiropractic adjusting, muscle scraping (gua sha), pin and stretch, and therapeutic exercises, while also addressing behavioral modifications, nutrition, and lifestyle factors all for optimal wellness. She is primarily a diversified manual adjuster, and also implements Thompson Drops and instrument-assisted adjustments. Some of her patients prefer instrument-only and that is welcomed by her.
She takes a movement and biomechanics based approach to chiropractic to promote function and wellbeing. As an avid runner, Dr. Ally loves helping people with hip, knee and shoulder injuries. She is amazed at how many people who hike or run have neck and shoulders tension! Aside from sports injuries or helping people continue doing what they love, she also has experience in pediatrics and prenatal, and really enjoys working with children, from 1 month to 17 years old. She loves supporting those who are expecting throughout their pregnancy, whether it be back pain, hip pain or overall wellness.
Dr. Ally returned to Seattle in 2020 to practice and joined Flourish in 2022. When Dr. Ally is outside of the office, she enjoys running, spending time with her family, and playing with her pup, Franklin.

Dr. Kelly Perona
Dr. Kelly focuses on intentional healing and pain relief using hot stones, adjustments, focused massage, and stretches to encourage movement in the body, as well as preventive/self-care, posture and general wellbeing.
She is Webster-certified and has studied in the most painless, effective treatment methods available which involve traditional hands-on adjustments or instrument.
From Dr. Kelly: I love connecting with people and holding a supportive space for their needs. I started school to become a dentist with the intent to have a career in helping people. Three years into my schooling, I changed my profession to chiropractic after a car accident so I could focus on treating muscle and joint problems naturally. I love witnessing the exponential improvement chiropractic and massage can bring to whiplash or strains from MVAs, bike accidents, or other collisions. And doing so in a compassionate, validating space.
I have helped musicians, people who bind or brave MTF or FTM surgeries, runners, yoga enthusiasts, people in the restaurant industry, hairstylists, and those with the ever-elusive desk jobs. My mission is to help people live life to their fullest potential. Sometimes that is being able to work throughout the day without pain. Sometimes that is getting out of bed and brushing your teeth. There is no judgement and I am humbled and appreciative to have someone trust me to help them in their goals.
I am familiar with a large variety of body movements and mechanics and have plenty of experience with my own injuries. I also understand that healing from an injury can be difficult because you don’t want to take time off from activity. I don’t want people to settle for merely being out of pain for typical daily activities. Healing properly, to me, means being able to get back into your personal level of activity without discomfort. I’d love to help.

What Is Pain?
Physical pain is unpleasant, but it lets us know something is wrong. It tells us our body is damaged and we need help. You can suffer from acute pain or chronic pain. Each one is rooted in a different cause and sends a different message.
Acute Pain
Acute pain is temporary, meaning it passes quickly. It comes on suddenly and usually has a clear cause. Think of acute pain as a warning that something traumatic is happening, and we need to pay attention. For example, when you touch a hot pan, you feel the pain, remove your hand, then run it under cold water for pain relief.
Common causes of acute pain include:
- Improper spinal motion, like lifting something heavy while twisting or bending
- Sports injuries
- Poor posture, like hunching shoulders while sitting or slouching
- Bad sleeping position
- A sudden force or impact, like in a car accident
- Trips, slips, and falls
Chronic Pain
Chronic pain doesn’t pass quickly and generally develops due to long-term patterns or behaviors. While the pain can come and go, if it recurs or lasts for three to six months, you have chronic pain, though it can last longer. Chronic pain can affect any part of your body, and there may be no visible signs of injury.
Common causes of chronic pain are:
- Repetitive stress, like poor desk ergonomics, phone use (tech neck), or long commutes
- Untreated injuries, including old sports injuries or accidents
- Degenerative changes due to aging or arthritis
- Chronic inflammation
What Can Pain Feel Like?
Pain is an individual experience, but may not be a single sensation. You may feel symptoms like:
- Sharpness or stabbing
- Dullness or aching
- Burning or tingling
- Stiffness or reduced range of motion
- Throbbing
- Radiating or referred pain (when the pain travels, like along a pinched nerve)
Not only can the physical feeling vary, your pain can feel different depending on where it is and what’s involved (like a muscle, joint, or disc).
- Head pain. Commonly referred to as a headache, you may feel pressure, throbbing, pulsing, heaviness, or sharp pains. The pain may intensify around bright lights, stress, or poor posture.
- Neck pain. Separate from head pain, neck pain can feel like stiffness, aching, pain when turning your head, or spread into your shoulders and upper back. While neck pain can happen with head pain, you may also experience tingling in your arms or jaw tension.
- Shoulder pain. Shoulder pain can happen with or separate from head or neck pain, and can feel like pinching, deep aching, sharpness, or weakness in your arm.
- Upper back pain. Upper back pain is often described as tight, like your back muscles are in a knot or need to crack. You may feel a burning sensation between your shoulder blades, achy after sitting, or stiff first thing in the morning.
- Low back pain. Low back pain has a variety of symptoms, including sharp pain with movement, muscle spasm, pulling, or a deep ache.
- Hip pain. Pain in the hips often includes groin pain as well as outer hip pain. Some people also experience pain that radiates down the thigh or pinching when standing or walking.
- Sciatica. Unlike other types of pain, sciatica is very distinct. Most people describe a burning, pins and needles, or numbness that is in the lower back, travels down the leg, or is felt between the toes. Unlike back or neck pain, sciatica is usually described as more “electric,” not achy or sore.

Benefits of Chiropractic Care for Pain Relief
Our skilled chiropractors can help relieve pain throughout your body, including:
- Back pain
- Joint pain
- Spine pain
- Muscle pain
- Soft tissue pain
- Neck pain
- Shoulder pain
- Sciatic pain
- Headaches
- Herniated disc pain
But chiropractic adjustments have benefits beyond reducing your discomfort:
- Restore spinal alignment. A misaligned spine can cause chronic but low-level back pain. Gentle spinal manipulation and chiropractic adjustment can restore your spinal alignment and provide pain relief throughout your body.
- Improve mobility. Chronic and acute pain have probably sidelined you. Even if you’re able to get out of the house, you’re probably not moving as quickly or confidently as you’d like. Reducing your pain can improve how you feel and get back to the routine of your daily life.
- Improve stability. To avoid a twinge in your back or sharp pain in your foot, you may be favoring one leg over the other. While that reduces your immediate pain, it can create other problems that cause more pain. Improving your posture and stability can help you stand strong.
- Drug-free alternative. The American College of Physicians (ACP) recommends that people with acute low-back pain treat their pain with non-pharmacological (drug-free) treatment, like spinal manipulation therapy.
